About the Appeal

Coming to learn at Chepstow House School is an extraordinary experience. We are immensely proud of the opportunities and experiences the school offers which have helped shape and transform the lives of so many boys and girls over the years.

The Gold Standard Charitable Trust (‘GSCT’) is the partner charity to Chepstow House School with a purpose to raise funds for bursary awards. Each year the GSCT offers support to parents of talented pupils whose circumstances would otherwise put an independent school education beyond their reach.

At Chepstow House School, places would be offered for children at the year 4 stage of their education (9+ years) in preparation for the 11+ into senior schools.

How to  apply for a bursary?

Please contact the school finance officer for application materials.

Please note, The Gold Standard Charitable Trust’s bursary application timeline for the 2024/25 academic year is as follows:

  • 31 October 2023:  Application process opens. All submissions welcome from this date.
  • 31 January 2024:  Closing deadline at 4pm. Late applications will not be accepted.
  • 20 March 2024: All decisions will be reached, and applicants will be notified shortly thereafter.

What criteria are used to make bursary decisions?

All applications are fully means tested, both initially and on an annual basis. Upon submission, the GSCT Trustees review the circumstances of the parents, including their financial status, before making awards.

Contributing to our bursary funds.

The Bursary & Scholarship Appeal’s initial plan is to raise funds to support at least one additional pupil on a full bursary each year, while making efforts to establish a significant endowment fund.
