Our Admissions FAQs

AT WHAT AGE DO CHILDREN JOIN LITTLE CHEPSTOW?

Children can join from the age of  2 years old depending on their date of birth. Any children with July and August birthdays  may have the option to join in the January term.  Children with autumn birthdays will join us in the September when they are rising 3 years old.

CAN MY CHILD DO FULL DAYS?

Yes!

We are now offering up to five full days for our children in the nursery.  Children are able to do  full days in the term that they turn three provided that they are potty-trained.

Morning sessions run from 8.45am to 11.50am.

Full Days run from 8.45am- 3.00pm.

HOW IS THE SCHOOL STRUCTURED?

We have two year groups.  These comprise of the 2-3 year olds and the 3-4 year olds. Typically children are with us for two years.  Within these year groups, the children are taught in small key worker groups as well as joining another group for some activities and part of the day.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATIOS FOR TEACHING STAFF:STUDENTS?

We adhere to the required standard ratios of 1:5 for under 3’s and 1:8 for over 3’s.

DOES ENTRY INTO LITTLE CHEPSTOW GUARANTEE A DEFINITE PLACE IN THE MAIN SCHOOL? (RECEPTION 4+ ENTRY)

All children attending Little Chepstow Nursery will gain an automatic place in our reception classes.

HOW DO WE REGISTER FOR LITTLE CHEPSTOW?

An online form can be found here One form and one fee automatically registers the child for both the Nursery and the School (Reception 4+ entry).

WHEN CAN WE SEE THE NURSERY?

Once you have registered, we will contact you to invite you to view the Nursery when your child is approximately 6 months old.

WHEN WILL PLACES BE OFFERED?

Places will be confirmed soon after your nursery visit.

GUARANTEED PLACES: If you have been offered a definite place at both Chepstow House and and Little Chepstow, this will be formalised after a nursery tour and in writing.
