Our Nursery Curriculum
Our early education programme is meticulously crafted to promote key areas of children's development, all of which are equally important and interconnected.
Communication and language feature prominently to help children become effective communicators, using language to solve problems, hold discussions and build relationships.
We also focus on physical development, including movement, control and coordination. Children learn the importance of physical activity and making healthy choices regarding food and exercise.
Personal, social and emotional development involves helping children to improve their social skills, manage their feelings, and form positive relationships with others.
Important literacy skills are developed at this stage, with young children starting to decode words using phonic knowledge, exhibit an interest in and recognise the written word, start forming letters, and engage in pre-writing and mark-making activities.
Mathematics-related activities aim to encourage problem-solving and teach children about space, shapes and measurements. These include counting quantities, ordering numbers, and sorting and recognising numbers.
To help them make sense of the world and their community, we provide various opportunities for pupils to explore, observe and discover more about themselves, their families, other people, places, technology and the environment.
Children are encouraged to play with and explore different media and materials, and express themselves through art, music, movement, dance, role-play, and design and technology.
