Residential Trips
Residential trips are a key part of a Chepstow House education, with exciting and unique learning opportunities for children outside the classroom. Starting in year 3, children embark on a thrilling trip suitable to their age group. Trips take place in the summer term and provide pupils with the chance to explore new interests and experiences, gain skills that benefit them now and in years to come, and enjoy bonding with their peers.
Year 3 students spend one night at Bushcraft. Children stay at ‘The Woods’ (Cornbury Park), living in the wild, sleeping under canvas and cooking over open fires. It is an unforgettable two days where they all form many happy memories.
In year 4, students visit Little Canada, Isle of Wight. During their three-night sojourn, children take part in a range of both land-based and water activities, including water skiing, climbing, abseiling, surfing and coastal exploration, developing their sense of responsibility, self-reliance and a heightened self-esteem. Children come away feeling more independent and with plenty of amazing stories to tell.
Students in year 5 have a four-night water sports trip to Rockley Park, Poole. The park has its own private beach where the children can sail, windsurf and kayak. It is an adventurous, fun-packed experience that every child enjoys participating in.
Year 6 students are treated to an immersive cultural trip, in which they travel abroad to Normandy, France. Here they have the opportunity to develop their French language skills, try different cuisines and immerse themselves the French way of life.
