Begin Your Child's Journey to Academic Success at Chepstow House
We warmly welcome families to our vibrant school community. At Chepstow House, we aim to discover the best in every child and challenge them to go beyond expectations. Our school fosters a happy, purposeful learning environment in which all children are supported and valued as individuals.
Each year, our Nursery offers places to children aged 2+, while Reception offers places for those aged 4+. We also consider pupils at any stage thereafter depending on the availability of spaces. Children wishing to enter in year 1 or above must complete an assessment to determine whether they are likely to benefit from our ambitious offering.
To begin your child’s journey to success at our exemplary school in Notting Hill, apply for a place today by following the simple steps below.
Register Your Child
We strongly advise that you register your child as soon as possible after birth for Nursery and Reception entry. A fixed number of definite places are assigned for each birth month. Any child registered after their birth month is already full will be placed on our waiting list.
Visit the School
Shortly after registering, parents will be invited to tour our Nursery with Miss Whiteside, the Nursery Head. A full school tour led by Mrs Barr, the Head Teacher, will take place two years before Reception entry. Tours for Occasional Places take place soon after you have registered or on the day your child visits school for their taster session.
For those wishing to see the school before registering, please email Mrs Wrigglesworth via admissions@chepstowhouseschool.co.uk.
Receive a Formal Offer
Should your child secure a definite place at Chepstow House, you will receive a formal offer letter requesting a non-refundable deposit. Deposits must be paid by the date stipulated, or it will be deemed that the place is no longer required. The waiting list will go into effect following the final payment date.
Advance Fees Payment
Nursery and Reception places:
In order to guarantee your child’s place in the nursery or school a term’s fees must be paid in advance. This will be collected a term prior to your child starting. Fees must be returned by the stated date or it will be deemed that the place is no longer required.
Occasional places:
For occasional places deposit and fees are paid on request. Fees must be returned by the stated date or it will be deemed that the place is no longer required.
Admission
Your child’s place at Chepstow House is confirmed upon the timely receipt of all advance fees. We look forward to welcoming them and beginning their exciting journey.
SEND
We are firmly committed to being inclusive and to giving every child the best possible start in life. Irrespective of their special educational needs or disability (SEND), we consider all children for admission to the school who have the ability and aptitude to access an academic curriculum. Pupils whose SEND are suited to the curriculum are welcome provided that we have the appropriate resources and facilities to offer them the support they require. Further details of our policies can be found here.
Occasional Places
Chepstow House is an Independent, non-selective school at Nursery and Reception.
Although the main intake age at Nursery is from 2 and in the Main School 4+, we do consider pupils at any stage as and when occasional vacancies arise.
Joining the school in year 1 and 2 would involve a classroom based taster morning. From year 3 upwards, a more formal written assessment may be required alongside a classroom based tester.
Our occasional place assessments are carried out throughout the year.
We currently have occasional places available for the academic year 2024-2025. If you are interested in an occasional place, please contact our Head of Admissions, Caroline Wrigglesworth on 020 7243 0243 or admissions@chepstowhouseschool.co.uk.

Admissions Policy
Chepstow House endeavours to accept all pupils, regardless of any disability (SEND) of which it is aware. The School asks parents if special needs should be taken into consideration, including English as an additional language (EAL). In assessing any pupil or prospective pupil the school may take such advice and require such assessments as considered appropriate. This is to ensure that the School can provide the right environment for the child’s academic and pastoral needs. The life of the School is enhanced by inclusive policies but equal importance must be given to ensuring that no pupil’s education is impaired.
We consider all children for admission to the school who have the ability and aptitude to access an academic curriculum. Pupils whose SEND are suited to the curriculum are welcome provided that we have the appropriate resources and facilities to offer them the support they require.
Subject to this, the School will be sensitive to any requests for confidentiality.
The School will arrange special early admissions meetings with parents of disabled prospective pupils to discuss special arrangements.
Before a place is offered at the School (and preferably prior to application):
Parents must disclose to the School any known or suspected circumstances relating to their child’s health, development, allergies, disabilities and learning difficulties. The School reserves the right to subsequently withdraw any place offered based on incomplete disclosure of known or suspected SEND circumstances.
Based on such disclosure, the School will confirm whether or not it is able to fully meet the needs of the child.
Where a child’s SEND is identified, or develops, after the child has started at the School, we will endeavour to continue support the child as long as we have the appropriate resources and facilities to provide them with the support they require, we believe it is in the best interest of the child and of the School community for them to remain at Chepstow House.
Where, in our judgement, any of these conditions no longer apply, we reserve the right to withdraw a place at the School. In such circumstances, we will use our reasonable endeavours to support parents in finding alternative arrangements.
We do not withdraw children from lessons to receive EAL support. The class teacher and/or classroom assistant supports the individual child.
We provide a range of opportunities for children to engage in speaking and listening activities in English with peers and adults. We also allow the children to perform and be assessed on tasks in their own language especially in areas such as maths. Differentiation of texts and materials that suit the child’s age is used to encourage learning. Support is also provided through ICT and audio materials.
Chepstow House will look to train or find courses for the teachers to attend in order to help with the inclusion of any child in the School. The training will either be internal or external depending on the needs of the child.
We also work with the Local Authorities to ensure individual Support Staff are provided for those that require it.
Once registered your data will be held in accordance with the GDPR privacy notice.
