Year 5 to Kew House School

On Thursday morning, year 5 travelled to Kew House School for a science lesson on spectroscopy, which is the study of the interaction between matter and electromagnetic radiation. They learnt the chemical symbols for various minerals, before using a Bunsen burner to light splints soaked in these minerals. Did you know copper gives off a blue/green colour? Next, they played an alien game to help them determine which materials were present in each galaxy, before heading back to school for their Science lesson.
