Year 7 have just returned from a fun packed residential in France!
After a brief stop at the hotel to drop their bags, the students headed to Disneyland, in time for the character parade, before catching two rides – Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and The Pirates of the Caribbean. The evening at the park finished with the illuminations and fireworks. A spectacular end to our first day.
“My favourite thing on Monday was the Disney firework show. It was so brilliant, I could watch it again and again,” Zara.
Day 2 was a full day at Disneyland, and it’s safe to say the day didn’t disappoint! They thoroughly enjoyed the parks – Walt Disney Studios Park and Disneyland Park, visiting both at least twice to ensure they had completed the rides as many times as possible. The day didn’t end here though; after a short refreshment break, they headed for more action at the Aqua Lagoon. They (maybe the teachers more so than the students) had anticipated spending an hour of relaxation here, however, the place was exhilarating, and they stayed for as long as possible, completing a variety of water slides and outdoor pools.
“On Tuesday I enjoyed going on the Rock ‘n’ Roller coaster starring Aerosmith with Miss Ritchie and Grace.” Gyula.
The last day in France rolled around way too quickly. We eased around the metro like true Parisians. Our first stop was the Eiffel Tower where we rose to the summit for the most amazing view across the city. They then headed to the Arc de Triomphe, climbing the stairs to the top where they were met with a heavy downpour! Escaping the weather quickly, they went to a typical Parisian Café, where Gyula enjoyed l’escargots, finishing with patisserie shopping.
“I loved going to the top of the Eiffel Tower with everyone. It was so fun and windy!’ Grace.
As Walt Disney said, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
