For the past several years, Chepstow House has worked closely with one of our local charities, The Rugby Portobello Trust, in organising the Christmas Shoe Box and Christmas Hamper Appeal. RPT helps local young people and their families to build their community by providing facilities, skills, activities and guidance that promote a stable society in a deprived area. It is part of P3 Charity, a national charity supporting those facing social exclusion. Through their community hubs they work with families dealing with homelessness, unemployment and using food banks and who will benefit from the Shoe Box and Christmas Hamper Appeal this year. As a school, we want to send a message of hope to both the parents, children and young people in need around the local area and country. Your kind donations come at a special time of year and will bring smiles and happiness to the lives of children in our community and country and ease the burden of struggling parents.
As part of our preparations for the Chepstow House Christmas Shoe Box Appeal, year 7 were invited to the Rugby Portobello Trust to volunteer at their junior youth club.As well as supporting younger children in activities such as drawing, table football and cards, they got stuck into some exciting activities that were new to all of them! Zara tried her hand at fencing and Gyula was a natural in the recording studio. Chepstow House and year 7 look forward to maintaining our relationship with the charity so that KS3 can keep up their voluntary contributions as part of the prefect programme.
