Year 6 Trip to Sky News Academy

This week year 6 went on a trip to the Sky Academy Studios. The day started off with a tour of the golf studio where they learnt the cost of a camera (£200,000!) and discussed the impact of different coloured lighting when filming. They then headed to the Academy Studios which is specially set up to introduce children to creating a news report. In studio teams, they wrote brilliant scripts about animal rights and then shot each section using recording equipment. These were put together into a full report which they then got to watch on screen. They were even paid a visit by Kay Burley, Sky News Presenter, who gave the children her top tips for being on camera. Thank you to Mrs Haim for arranging a fantastic day out for year 6 and giving the children a sneak peek into the Sky News room!
