This half term Reception are learning about Minibeasts. They had a fantastic trip to Holland Park Ecology Centre where they searched high and low for lots of different minibeasts. Whilst foraging in the park they found centipedes, woodlice and huge, slimy slugs! The children used magnifying glasses to inspect each minibeast they found and were eager to pick the worms up with their hands. Matthew, who works at the Ecology Centre, informed the children that there are no minibeasts with two or four legs and that minibeasts with six legs are called insects. To end the trip off the children even got to touch a real life Madagascan Hissing Cockroach!
