For our whole school assembly on Tuesday 21st November Nick Carter was the guest speaker. He spoke to us about how he used a sense of adventure to positively change who he was as a person, as well as what attributes you need to be an explorer. We were surprised to learn that before he set off to tackle his adventure goal of climbing Mount Everest, he wasn’t tough or brave at all! After speaking to people who had climbed Everest before, he ascertained the attributes needed for such a feat: bravery, toughness, being a team player, being someone who does things rather than talks about them and being able to climb! We learnt about how he prepared himself both physically and emotionally for this challenge. It was an inspiring talk, and one which we hope gives us all the impetus to positively change, step by step.
