On Thursday the Swallow and Kingfisher classes were lucky enough to visit the Tower of London. They were met by a Tudor at the gate who took them back in time, teaching the children about the trials and tribulations of those who lived during the 1500s. They walked along the top of the battlements, entering the different towers and even plucked up the courage to venture into the torture room. The children couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the size of the gems on the crown jewels! When they got back to school, the children enjoyed sharing all the facts they learnt from the day. Did you know that the Tower of London used to be a zoo? They kept wild elephants and monkeys there!
