Chess Club
“Our considerable experience, working in schools throughout London for the past decade, has shown that chess success leads to confidence and enthusiasm, which transfer to many other fields of education. Chess teaches children to think in a logical and mathematically structured manner. It also encourages them to think for themselves and develop a healthy competitive spirit. Most importantly, chess is fun, whilst also being intellectually stimulating.
All children will receive professional chess tuition during chess club and will take part in the school chess championships each term, with trophies and medals for the winners. Each child will additionally receive a certificate and another prize.
Grandmaster Aaron Summerscale is a best-selling author and The British Rapidplay Champion 2000. He currently teaches at various schools throughout London, including King’s College Junior School. He has also coached the English Junior Squad at the World Championships.
